Vamac is a terpolymer of ethylene, methyl acrylate, and acrylic acid (AEM – Acrylic Ethylene Methylene).
Used for its high resistance to temperature and ozone, it is a preferred option in automotive applications where good resistance to oils at high temperatures, service fluids, and excellent sealing properties in the presence of water are required. It is also an ideal compound for parts exposed to glycol-based or hydrocarbon lubricants and cooling liquids in general. Moreover, with the selection of the correct grade and the right mix, Vamac exhibits a low level of permeability to the fluids of new electric engines.
The working temperature range is from 175°C to -60°C.
